Description

Alternative to the mantua (tadarida.deviantart.com/art/17…) that was cut from one piece of fabric and draped over the bodice and petticoat and before the robe volante (tadarida.deviantart.com/art/17…), which was loose garnment, also cut from one piece.

This dress has a closed petticoat, cut separately from the bodice. The bodice is closed in the front (lacing in the back?) and had a V-shaped slit in the front that shows the second bodice.

In the beggining of 18th century women start powdering their hair, especially if they wear hairpieces. Fontanges start to go out of fashion and smaller, neater hairstyles come into spotlight in 1713.

I love the tiny details, like the lines on the lace and the hair. Do you copy from references? If so, how much of the design is your own invention?
