1540 .:2:. French by Tadarida 1540 .:2:. French by Tadarida
Clothing of 1540s continues styles of 1530s, but waistline is now lower and pointed, the dress is worn over a farthingale and cuffed sleeves evolve into trumpet sleeves. The slashing is now often fake and pplied over the sleeves. Trumpet sleeves dissapear in 1550s. By the end of the decade, round sleeves come into fashion. Under the dress tightly laced kirtle with a stiffened front is worn.

Woman on the left wears a matching parlet to cover the cleavage. The white material on her inner sleeves
Woman on the right has fur sleeves attached to the dress.

Due to lighter colors I'd say this is French.

Very nice! I love how it has the look of a period painting.

This is so well done and I love those dresses! If only I had more time...I would make a dress like that! Well Done!
