Description

I'm waiting impatiently for "The Borgias" and watching the trailer www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7pR1_… over and over. It reminded me how great were the clothes from the renaissance Italy.

EDIT: I added some details, but the picture was too big so I split it into two parts (part one tadarida.deviantart.com/art/Va…)

EDIT2: Dresses are inspired by paintings from all over Italy as well as by "The Borgias" and other movies, so they are not 100% accurate. More acurate and region-specific clothes can be found here: tadarida.deviantart.com/galler…

Blonde people in Italy aren't very common, tho. And the more south you go, the more Italians' skin and hair gets darker. Except in Sicily because in the past was dominated by both Arabians and Normans. That made Sicily pretty peculiar, if you visit you can see many Italians that totally look like arabians, and many others that totally look like Viking-like north europeans, even into the same family you can have, for instance, two brothers, one small, hairy, with brown eyes very dark skin tone, black hair, a lot of beard and body-hair and tipically arabic features; and the other one tall, blonde, with light skin and eyes, and north european features. And yes, I do understand that giving so much specific infos about Sicily can seem super random, but it's actually something noteworthy if you try to make accurate historical reconstructions. Even if the reconstructions focus mainly on the clothing, it can only help if even the faces look accurate.
